President Discussed Energy Projects with Chinese Companies
President Shavkat Mirziyoyev held a meeting with the heads of leading Chinese companies in Tashkent on December 5. This was reported by Zamin.uz.

During the meeting, joint projects aimed at expanding bilateral cooperation, introducing modern technologies in the energy sector, and applying engineering solutions were discussed. It was noted with satisfaction that the interest of Chinese companies in implementing investment projects in Uzbekistan is increasing.

This year, attracting more than 15 billion dollars in investment from China is planned, with the total project portfolio reaching 90 billion dollars. Cooperation in the energy sector was highlighted as a particularly important direction.

More than 30 projects with a capacity of 10 gigawatts and a value exceeding 9 billion dollars are being implemented with Chinese partners. In addition, 14 new projects worth 2 billion dollars have been launched.

At the meeting, issues related to expanding photovoltaic power plants, constructing new capacities, and applying renewable energy technologies in agriculture and livestock sectors were discussed with Jou Yuanlong, president of China Datang company. Initiatives for personnel training and establishing research laboratories were also supported.

Cooperation with China Energy Engineering Corporation in building solar power plants and energy storage systems was highly appreciated. The importance of developing projects in the alternative energy sector was emphasized.

Men Sinlin, chairman of Sinoma Energy company, provided information on the construction of wind power plants and localization of blade production for wind turbines. Proposals related to waste treatment technologies in the chemical and construction industries were also discussed.

Additionally, accelerating the construction of wind power plants with Universal Energy company and improving the efficiency of the newly launched cogeneration plant with China General Technology company were considered. Plans for building energy storage systems were discussed with representatives of Poly Changda Engineering company.

Within the framework of this meeting, agreements were reached to strengthen future cooperation with Chinese companies and accelerate new projects.
