The Uzbekistan Hydrometeorology Service (Uzhydromet) has warned of sharply cold weather and precipitation expected across the country from December 8 to 10. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
According to experts, during these days, moist and cold air masses will enter the country’s territory, resulting in significant changes in weather conditions. Rainfall is expected in some regions of the republic on December 8–9.
Due to the drop in temperature and increased humidity, precipitation may intensify in some areas. In foothill and mountainous regions, precipitation will be variable from December 8 to 10, alternating between rain and snow.
At times, heavy precipitation is also likely. Therefore, specialists urge the public to be cautious and call on drivers traveling on mountain roads to remain vigilant.
On December 9–10, wind speeds in northern regions and desert areas may reach 15–18 m/s, with short-term gusts up to 20–22 m/s in some places. This situation may cause dust to rise and reduce visibility in certain areas, as well as create difficulties for transportation.
Temperature changes are also expected. By December 10, nighttime temperatures in central regions will be 2–5 degrees below zero, while daytime temperatures will be 3–6 degrees above zero.
In northern provinces, the cold will be stronger, with nighttime temperatures expected to drop to 7–10 degrees below zero and daytime temperatures ranging from 0 to 3 degrees below zero. Uzhydromet has called on the public to prepare for sharp changes in weather conditions and to strictly observe safety rules on the roads and in open areas.
