
Deputy Prime Minister of Uzbekistan Jamshid Khodjaev shared his views on developing cooperation with South Korean companies. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
According to Yonhap news agency, Khodjaev made these statements during his official visit to South Korea. He emphasized plans to further expand cooperation between the two countries in the fields of renewable energy sources, infrastructure, transport, and information technologies.
Currently, more than 680 Uzbek-Korean joint ventures are operating in Uzbekistan. Thanks to reforms carried out in the country over the past eight years, the economy has doubled in size.
South Korea will also participate in the construction of a new international airport in Tashkent. This project is scheduled to be completed and commissioned in 2029.
In addition, Hyundai Rotem will deliver high-speed trains worth 198 million dollars to Uzbekistan. Training of Uzbek specialists to operate and maintain these trains will also be conducted.
Trade relations between the two countries are also developing. By early 2025, the mutual trade turnover exceeded 1.4 billion US dollars.
South Korea is currently one of Uzbekistan's top five trading partners.
