Hyundai Rotem company has sent the first high-speed train to Uzbekistan. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
The loading ceremony for this train was held on December 10 at the port of Masan, South Korea. The event was attended by Uzbekistan's Deputy Prime Minister Jamshid Khodjaev and the management of the South Korean company.
This was reported by the ChosunBiz information source. This first batch consists of seven carriages and was manufactured within one year and five months after the contract was signed.
According to the plan, the trains will be delivered to Uzbekistan in January or February 2026. It is expected that this will happen one to two months earlier than initially scheduled.
The remaining 35 carriages (five trains) are planned to be delivered by the end of 2027. These trains are adapted to Uzbekistan's climate conditions.
They are dust-resistant and can operate under high temperatures and sandstorm conditions. The new carriages are intended for routes longer than 1,200 kilometers, including the route between Tashkent and Bukhara.
This project is expected to be an important step in the development of the country's transport system.
