
On December 12, 2025, the President of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, delivered a speech at the international forum "Peace and Trust." This was reported by Zamin.uz.
In his speech, the head of state emphasized the importance of strengthening mutual trust and solidarity in the region, as well as resolving conflicts through dialogue and negotiations. The President expressed gratitude to the leadership and people of Turkmenistan for their warm reception and for organizing the forum at a high level.
Additionally, Turkmenistan’s consistent policy of neutrality and its contribution to international peace were specially acknowledged. Shavkat Mirziyoyev assessed this forum as an important political platform for strengthening trust, respect, and cooperation among states.
He noted that Turkmenistan’s neutrality policy successfully implements the principles of peace-loving diplomacy. The President highlighted the UN’s Regional Center for Preventive Diplomacy for Central Asian countries, operating in Ashgabat, as a clear example of this policy.
The head of state reminded that openness, mutual respect, and dialogue are important values in developing the "New Uzbekistan," and pointed out the significance of continuing efforts aimed at strengthening unity on the path to common security and prosperity within the framework of the Samarkand initiative. He also announced that during Uzbekistan’s chairmanship in the Non-Aligned Movement, promoting peace, trust, and tolerance will be one of the priority directions.
The President proposed declaring 2027 as the "Year of Preventive Diplomacy." Within this initiative, various international events, conferences, and youth delegation exchanges are planned.
Furthermore, the proposal by Turkmenistan to declare 2025 as the "International Year of Peace and Trust" was also supported. Shavkat Mirziyoyev emphasized the relevance of the policy of ensuring peace based on mutual trust and cooperation in Central Asia, noting that the Council meeting of regional heads of state held in Tashkent was an important step in this direction.
Within the forum, a proposal was made to hold the international humanitarian forum "Dialogue of Cultures" in Tashkent in the future, involving creative and scientific communities. Additionally, through the regional program "Youth for Peace and Trust," active involvement of young people in peace processes is planned.
In conclusion, the President assessed peace and trust as the foundation of common prosperity and expressed Uzbekistan’s readiness to continue contributing to the formation of a just and stable world order. He wished success to the forum participants and peace and prosperity to the people of Turkmenistan.
