Head of the Presidential Administration Saida Mirziyoyeva held an important meeting on December 15 with responsible officials to discuss the protection of women's and children's rights and to strengthen the fight against violence against them. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
At the meeting, pressing issues for society were openly and extensively discussed. In particular, the causes of early pregnancy and measures to prevent it were also considered.
In her speech, Saida Mirziyoyeva emphasized that Uzbekistan was the first country in Central Asia to adopt a law against domestic violence. She also noted that accountability for sexual crimes committed against children has been strengthened.
However, she stressed that efforts in this area should not be limited to the laws adopted, but effective mechanisms must be developed in practice. Mirziyoyeva highlighted the importance of creating a system that takes prompt and reliable measures against cases of violence.
According to her, in many cases problems are concealed or statistical data is not disclosed. Fear of public criticism and concern about damaging reputation deepen the problem further.
Therefore, responsible officials must prioritize transparency and accountability. Saida Mirziyoyeva firmly demanded an uncompromising approach to violence and emphasized the necessity of ensuring the protection of women's and children's rights and interests not just in slogans but in practice.
She reminded that human fate must be placed above any statistics, and noted that accepting criticism and openly discussing problems are the foundation of real reforms. This position once again confirmed that human dignity, especially the interests of the most vulnerable groups — women and children — are a priority in state policy.
According to experts, such a firm approach serves to form an uncompromising attitude towards violence in society. Source of information: zamin.uz.
