New changes are planned to be introduced in the procedure for entering the city of Tashkent. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
From now on, visitors entering the city will be able to leave their cars in special parking lots outside the city and reach the center using public transport. This was announced at a meeting held on December 16 under the leadership of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
Earlier, a separate decision was made in December to improve the transport system and reduce traffic congestion in the capital. According to this decision, a special center will be established in Tashkent to manage traffic based on a unified approach.
This center will analyze traffic flow at every street and intersection using artificial intelligence to help prevent congestion and road accidents. In 2024, two control posts at the city entrances will be relocated outside the city, and three more posts will be reconstructed.
Thousands of parking spaces for light and heavy vehicles, as well as recreational areas for residents, will be organized in these areas. These places will be connected to the public transport network to facilitate convenient movement for the population.
Additionally, the number of “smart” intersections in the city will increase, new stops and pedestrian walkways will be built, bike lanes will be established, and road infrastructure will be updated. The purchase of environmentally friendly electric buses is also planned.
These measures are aimed at easing traffic in Tashkent and creating a comfortable urban environment for citizens.
