In Uzbekistan, from December 20, 2025, to January 10, 2026, large-scale cleaning activities called the “Urgent 20 days” will be held. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
About this initiative, Aziz Abduhakimov, advisor to the President of Uzbekistan on ecology issues and chairman of the National Committee on Ecology and Climate Change, informed. The event is organized on the eve of the New Year holiday to keep the environment clean and improve the ecological situation.
Within the framework of the events, a special republican working headquarters has been established under the Agency for Waste Management and Circular Economy Development. During this period, regular cleaning of solid household waste will be carried out in cities and villages.
Strict compliance with sanitary requirements will be ensured in neighborhoods, and additionally, to prevent the accumulation of waste, waste will be collected on an unscheduled shift basis in a timely manner. The main goal of the initiative is to create favorable conditions for the population to welcome the New Year in a cheerful mood, ensure the cleanliness of cities and villages, and contribute to the protection of nature.
At the same time, citizens were once again reminded of the necessity to dispose of waste in designated places and to act responsibly towards the environment. According to experts, such mass cleaning activities not only ensure cleanliness before the holiday but also positively influence the formation of ecological culture in society.
