A group producing fake driver's licenses was exposed

A criminal group engaged in producing and issuing fake driver's licenses for one year has been exposed. This was reported by Zamin.uz.

During the investigation, it was revealed that one employee of the Public Services Center was also involved in the group's activities. These individuals prepared fake documents for a total of 72 citizens and received illegal income amounting to 616 million soums in return.

The criminal group prepared the licenses using two different methods. In the first method, old-style driver's licenses were handmade for 500–1000 US dollars and then exchanged for new-style licenses through bribery.

In the second method, fake certificates and QR codes were prepared on behalf of the Road Traffic Safety Departments for amounts up to 10,000 US dollars. The prepared fake documents were submitted to district Public Services Centers and unlawfully processed with the help of certain officials.

As a result of additional inspections conducted by the Prosecutor General's Office, more than 1,200 fake driver's licenses were identified. Currently, all licenses obtained illegally have been canceled in accordance with the established procedure.

Criminal liability is being considered for the individuals involved in the violation, as well as for citizens who knowingly purchased the fake documents. Source: One.uz.
