Information about this was provided in the relevant decree signed on December 24, 2025. According to the decree, December 31, January 2, and January 3 have been designated as additional holidays in connection with the New Year celebrations.
Thus, the country's population will have the opportunity to celebrate the New Year for five days. In addition, for all employees throughout 2026, January 2, May 28–29, and August 31 have been approved as additional holidays.
For those working a six-day workweek, January 3, May 30, and December 31 have been designated as additional holidays. The decree also specifies the procedure for shifting certain holidays that fall on days off.
For example, the day off for the March 8 holiday will be moved to March 9, for the March 21 holiday to March 23, and for the May 9 holiday to May 11. For those working a five-day workweek, the day off on December 12 will be moved to December 31.
In connection with the extension of holidays, it is recommended to organize discounts and promotions in tourism, sanatoriums, and domestic transport services. Additionally, measures will be taken to widely inform the public about holiday events.
