
On December 26, Samarkand International Airport welcomed its 1.5 millionth passenger for the year and recorded a new record for 2025. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
This was announced by the Air Marakanda press service. The 1.5 millionth passenger was Mukhabbat Shodierova, a resident of Oqdaryo district in Samarkand region.
She flew on the "Pobeda" airline flight on the Samarkand – Moscow route. As part of the event, gifts were raffled among the passengers of this flight by "Pobeda" and Air Marakanda.
It should be noted that since the end of October, Samarkand airport has entered the autumn-winter flight season. During the spring-summer season, the airport served over 900 thousand passengers, ensuring a growth rate of 7 percent.
Additionally, during the past season, the airport's route network was expanded. Ural Airlines launched flights to Krasnoyarsk, and Azimuth Airlines started flights to Samara and Krasnodar.
