The Tax Committee announced that installing the Paynet Xolis mobile application is not mandatory for individual entrepreneurs and self-employed persons. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
According to the agency, the use of this application is purely voluntary. This was reported by Podrobno.uz.
According to the Committee's statement, the application is aimed at creating a transparent business environment, and no one can be forced to install it. If there are cases of pressure from tax authorities' employees, taxpayers are advised to call the short number 1198 or contact regional tax inspections.
Additionally, the Tax Committee stated that it is working on new services in cooperation with other ministries, agencies, and payment organizations. These initiatives are aimed at encouraging entrepreneurs to transition to the formal economy and creating convenient digital tools for them.
This statement was issued following entrepreneurs' complaints on the internet. Some entrepreneurs complained that tax officers were demanding them to install the application.
Regarding the situation, the editorial office of Podrobno.uz sent inquiries to the Tax and Anti-Monopoly Committees, but no official response has been received so far. Earlier, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev announced plans to reduce the share of the shadow economy from 45–50 percent to 28 percent by 2026.
At the same time, it is planned that the main tax rates will remain unchanged.
