Uzbekistan achieved historic achievements in 2025

In this year, for the first time in the country's history, the national football team qualified for the World Cup. The team participated successfully in the qualifying stage and proved its capabilities.

This result was related to the change in the World Cup format, namely the increase in quotas allocated for Asia. Initially, the team was led by Timur Kapadze, but later the coaching duties were handed over to Fabio Cannavaro.

The first match of the championship was scheduled against Colombia, and the second against Portugal. In August, the famous singer Jennifer Lopez gave a concert in Tashkent as part of her tour.

This event, held at the "Milliy" stadium, was noted as one of the largest musical shows in the country's history. More than 31,000 spectators attended the concert, the majority of whom came from abroad.

This event further strengthened Tashkent's position as an international cultural center. In September, a major contract was signed between Uzbekistan and Boeing.

According to it, 22 Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft were to be purchased for Uzbekistan Airways. The value of the agreement exceeded 8 billion dollars and was assessed as a new stage of mutual economic cooperation.

In November, ecological problems intensified in the country. Air quality worsened in Tashkent and other regions, leading to an increase in health complaints among people.

A special ecological commission was established, and control over industrial facilities was strengthened. Additionally, work was carried out to adapt greenhouses and factories to environmental standards.

In December, an electronic prescription system was introduced in pharmacies. This change caused difficulties in purchasing certain medicines and sparked various debates among the public.

The Ministry of Health announced that it would continue measures to improve the system. Economically, 2025 ended with positive results.

The national currency – the Uzbek som – strengthened by nearly 7% against the dollar. This was mainly explained by the growth of gold exports, tourism revenues, and remittances.
