Alcohol consumption in Uzbekistan ranks seventh in the CIS

The population of Uzbekistan consumes an average of 2.1 liters of pure alcohol per person annually. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
This information is presented in the "Alcohol Consumption by Country" ranking for 2026 published by World Population Review. This indicator placed Uzbekistan in 7th position among CIS countries.
In the ranking, Russia and Belarus stand out among the CIS countries with the highest consumption levels. Their figures are 16.8 liters and 11.6 liters respectively.
Kazakhstan with 6.38 liters, Moldova with 4.79 liters, Armenia with 4.28 liters, and Azerbaijan with 2.49 liters are ahead of Uzbekistan. Turkmenistan and Kyrgyzstan follow Uzbekistan with 1.26 liters and 0.72 liters respectively.
Alcohol consumption in Central Asian countries is significantly lower compared to European countries. For example, Romania has the highest global figure, with 17.1 liters of alcohol consumed per person annually.
In Georgia, this figure is 15.5 liters, in Latvia 14.7 liters, in Moldova 14.1 liters, and in the Czech Republic 13.7 liters. Overall, alcohol consumption in Uzbekistan is considerably lower compared to other CIS and European countries.
