Defense doctrine and security concept will be updated

The President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, emphasized the necessity of updating the country's Defense Doctrine and National Security Concept. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
The head of state noted that the existing documents do not meet modern requirements and threats. It is known that the Defense Doctrine was adopted eight years ago, while the National Security Concept has not been updated since 1997.
Given that security threats are rapidly changing nowadays, it is important to review these documents and develop new approaches. The new Defense Doctrine should be based on the principle of maintaining Uzbekistan's status of non-alignment with military blocs.
Additionally, it should focus on developing multilateral diplomacy, implementing advanced technologies, ensuring military independence, and strengthening regional stability. According to the President, this document will serve as an important foundation for modernizing the army and applying advanced military technologies.
