Certificate validity extended for foreign language teachers

According to the Ministry of Preschool and School Education, the deadline for foreign language teachers to obtain a national or international certificate at least at the B2 level has been extended until the beginning of the 2026/2027 academic year. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
It is worth noting that in 2021, by government decree, it was made mandatory for foreign language teachers to have a certificate. Initially, they were given a 3-year period to meet this requirement.
At the same time, it was planned that teachers who obtained the certificate would be encouraged with additional bonuses. However, during 2024 and 2025, many teachers expressed objections, stating that they had not been able to fulfill this requirement.
Subsequently, the government reviewed the deadline and extended it several times. According to the latest decision, teachers will have the opportunity to obtain the certificate until September 2026.
Thus, since 2021, foreign language teachers have been given a total of 5 years to obtain a B2 level certificate. The ministry recommends that teachers make effective use of this opportunity.
