The number of foreign enterprises in Uzbekistan has exceeded 18 thousand

As of January 1, 2025, the number of enterprises with foreign investment in Uzbekistan reached 18,164. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
This indicator reflects the growing interest of foreign capital in the country's economy. According to the State Committee on Statistics, 4,247 of these enterprises are joint ventures, while 13,917 are foreign companies.
Thus, the majority share belongs to foreign companies. Over the past five years, the number of enterprises with foreign investment has increased by 1.9 times.
This is reflected not only in numbers but also in intensified market competition, the creation of new jobs, and an increase in the variety of services. The list showing the leading countries by the number of enterprises with foreign investment is as follows: China — 5,044, Russia — 3,181, Turkey — 2,137, Kazakhstan — 1,212, South Korea — 693, Afghanistan — 635, United Arab Emirates — 414, Tajikistan — 389, India — 375, and the USA — 340.
From this list, it is evident that Uzbekistan's investment geography is broad: neighboring countries, Asian countries, the Middle East, and Western countries actively participate. In conclusion, the more than 18 thousand foreign companies in Uzbekistan contribute to the development of new technologies, work methods, and cooperation in the economy.
Now, the main focus should be on increasing the efficiency of these enterprises, strengthening export potential, and promoting the development of local personnel. Source: One.uz.
