Avalanche risk announced in mountainous areas

Due to expected precipitation and a sharp change in air temperature from January 16 to 19, 2026, there may be a risk of avalanches in the mountainous regions of the republic. According to experts, such weather conditions increase the danger level in mountainous areas.
According to this warning, the following areas are at risk of avalanches: Dehqonobod, Kitob, Qamashi, and Shahrisabz districts of Qashqadaryo region; Boysun, Qumqo‘rg‘on, Sariosiyo, and Uzun districts of Surxondaryo region; Nurobod, Qo‘shrabot, Samarqand, and Urgut districts of Samarqand region; Baxmal and Zomin districts of Jizzakh region; Bo‘stonliq, Parkent, and Ohangaron districts (Chotqol mountain range) of Tashkent region; Pop district of Namangan region. Therefore, residents of mountainous areas, vacationers, and drivers traveling on mountain roads are advised to be cautious.
It is important to strictly follow safety rules when traveling on mountain roads, visiting recreational areas, and spending time at high altitudes. This warning aims to prevent dangerous situations.
