Uzbekistan was invited as a founding member to the Peace Council

US President Donald Trump proposed that Uzbekistan take a permanent seat on the international Peace Council. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
According to the President's press service, Trump sent an official letter to Uzbekistan's President Shavkat Mirziyoyev. In this letter, Uzbekistan was invited to join an international initiative aimed at ensuring peace and resolving conflicts in the Middle East.
According to the letter, this initiative was announced on September 29, 2025, and approved by UN Security Council Resolution No. 2803. The purpose of the initiative is to establish a new international structure—the Peace Council—to ensure long-term peace, stability, and security.
Uzbekistan was invited to join this council as a founding member state. In his response letter to Trump, Shavkat Mirziyoyev expressed Uzbekistan's readiness to participate in the initiative.
Mirziyoyev assessed this initiative as an important step towards resolving conflicts in the Middle East and strengthening stability in the region. It was noted that the functions of the Peace Council are not limited to the Gaza Strip.
It is planned to operate as an international organization aimed at restoring stability and reliable governance in regions affected by conflicts. Trump will chair this council, and important decisions will require his approval.
Uzbekistan's invitation as a founding member of the council is expected to further strengthen the country's position on the international stage. This proposal creates new opportunities to ensure Uzbekistan's active participation in initiatives aimed at peace and stability.
Thus, Tashkent may enhance its role in regional and global issues and enter a new phase. Source: Zamin.uz
