Apple Pay and Google Pay to launch in Uzbekistan

An important step has been taken towards the development of the digital economy in Uzbekistan. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
On January 20, at the meeting of the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis, the draft law on amendments to the "Personal Data" law was approved in the first reading. This innovation will enable international payment systems to enter our country and provide conveniences for millions of citizens and tourists.
Currently, it is necessary to introduce modern payment technologies to increase the volume of cashless payments and develop tourism. Until now, the existing legislation has been an obstacle to the entry of international payment systems.
According to the new draft law, permission will be granted to store and process certain personal data abroad, but this process must strictly comply with international security standards. As a result of these reforms, global services such as Apple Pay and Google Pay are expected to officially start operating in Uzbekistan.
With Apple Pay, payments can be made instantly using an iPhone or Apple Watch, with card information stored in encrypted form. Google Pay offers a convenient and secure contactless payment system for Android device owners.
Purchases will be possible using NFC technology. The draft law has now been sent to the Senate.
These changes are expected to make Uzbekistan one of the leading countries in the digital services market. From now on, payments can be made via smartphones instead of plastic cards.
This will be a great convenience not only for the local population but also for tourists visiting our country. Tourists will be able to easily make purchases across the country using the payment systems they are accustomed to.
How do you evaluate these changes? Which service do you prefer, Apple Pay or Google Pay?
