21 thousand km of roads repaired in Uzbekistan by 2025
Extensive work is being carried out in Uzbekistan to develop highways, adapt them to modern requirements, and improve infrastructure quality. This was reported by Zamin.uz.

According to the Committee of Highways, the total length of roads in our country is 184,596 kilometers. Of these, 42,371 kilometers are public roads, and 142,225 kilometers are urban and rural internal streets.

The year 2025 was effective for the sector. A total of 15 trillion 758 billion soums worth of work was carried out at 4,318 facilities, with 21,553 kilometers of roads and 320 bridges completely repaired.

The previous "resource method" was abandoned, and the "volume method" in accordance with international standards was adopted. Additionally, with the help of international financial institutions, 300.3 million dollars were utilized to construct more than 213 kilometers of modern roads.

Strategically important facilities were built in our country. In Khiva, a 550-meter underground road was constructed.

In Jizzakh, in the Sharof Rashidov district, a 4-kilometer road connecting Islam Karimov Street to the M-39 highway and a 700-meter overpass were put into operation. In Tashkent, roads from Makhtumkuli Street to the New Uzbekistan Park were renovated, and 21 kilometers of sports paths were established around the Olympic Village.

To extend the service life of roads, the weight control system for trucks was strengthened. Across the republic, 86 modern weighing stations are being installed, with work already started on 41 of them.

Additionally, in the Bostanliq district, an underground pedestrian crossing tunnel was built in a record short time — just 48 hours. Projects like these serve to develop road infrastructure.

Furthermore, 42 regulatory and legal documents and standards related to the sector were revised based on foreign experience. These innovations will enable a new level of quality in road construction.
