Air quality deteriorated in Tashkent, precipitation expected

Due to the drop in air temperature in Tashkent city, the atmospheric quality has deteriorated. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
According to “O‘zgidromet,” cold air flows have been entering our country’s territory since February 28. For this reason, the wind in Tashkent is almost not blowing, and air exchange has slowed down.
Experts emphasize that at night the air temperature is around +3…+5 degrees, while during the day it is about +11…+15 degrees. The sharp difference between day and night temperatures leads to the formation of fog in the morning and causes temperature inversion.
In this situation, cool air accumulates on the lower floors, while warm air remains in the upper layers. As a result, air circulation slows down.
Due to such meteorological conditions, air exchange near the ground almost stops. Because of this, pollutants, especially fine particles (PM2.5 and PM10), accumulate over the city, causing air pollution.
Nevertheless, there is positive news as well. Meteorologists expect precipitation starting tomorrow.
Precipitation can wash away dust and harmful particles in the air and improve air quality.
