Increased risk of landslides in mountainous areas of Uzbekistan

Uzbekistan's meteorologists have issued a warning about possible flash floods in the coming days. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
Due to expected precipitation and temperature changes on February 24-25, flash floods may occur in the mountainous regions of the republic. In Tashkent region, the Chotqol mountain range in Bostanliq, Parkent, and Ohangaron districts has been designated as a hazardous area.
In Namangan region, there is a risk of avalanches in Pop district. Additionally, on February 26-27, due to precipitation and temperature changes, there is a possibility of flash floods in the mountainous districts of Kashkadarya, Surkhandarya, Samarkand, Jizzakh, and Tashkent regions.
Specifically, in Kashkadarya region, Dehqonobod, Kitob, Qamashi, Shahrisabz; in Surkhandarya region, Boysun, Qumqo‘rg‘on, Sariosiyo, Uzun; in Samarkand region, Nurobod, Qo‘shrabot, Samarkand, Urgut; and in Jizzakh region, Baxmal, Zomin districts are listed as hazardous areas. Citizens living in mountainous areas, vacationers, and drivers are urged to take precautionary measures.
