In Uzbekistan, undocumented properties can be inherited

In recent years, a number of reforms have been implemented in the construction and cadastral sectors in Uzbekistan. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
Nevertheless, many citizens still face real estate objects without official documentation. For this reason, a new draft law has been developed to facilitate inheritance matters for the population.
According to the new draft law, buildings without documents can also be included in the inheritance. This innovation means that land plots belonging to the deceased but not registered with the state can be part of the inheritance.
Previously, such cases often led to numerous court proceedings. Now, the transfer of rights to the land plot to the new owner will be entered into the state register based on a notarized certificate.
This will eliminate unnecessary difficulties for heirs. The draft also envisages important additions to the law "On State Registration of Rights to Real Estate."
Based on an application from close relatives of the deceased, completed buildings can be registered in the name of the deceased. A similar procedure is proposed for unfinished objects as well.
This provides heirs with the opportunity to systematically transfer property from the deceased to their own name. Information about owners of privatized lands will be strictly reflected in the state register, which will further strengthen the protection of landowners' rights by the state.
These reforms serve to guarantee citizens' property rights, increase transparency in the real estate market, and resolve problems accumulated over the years. Source: One.uz.
