Avalanche risk announced in mountainous areas

The Hydrometeorology Service of the Republic of Uzbekistan has issued a warning about the risk of avalanches in mountainous areas. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
Due to expected precipitation and changes in air temperature from March 9 to 11, 2026, there is a possibility of avalanches in some mountainous regions. This risk concerns the Dehqonobod, Kitob, Qamashi, and Shahrisabz districts of Kashkadarya region; the Boysun, Qumqo‘rg‘on, Sariosiyo, and Uzun districts of Surkhandarya region; the Nurobod, Qo‘shrabot, Samarkand, and Urgut districts of Samarkand region; the Baxmal and Zomin districts of Jizzakh region; the Bo‘stonliq, Parkent, and Ohangaron districts of Tashkent region; as well as the Chotqol mountain range and the Pop district of Namangan region.
Residents living in mountainous areas, vacationers, and drivers traveling along these routes are advised to take precautionary measures. As previously announced, cold and humid air masses are expected to enter the territory of Uzbekistan from March 9 to 12.
