The number of cybercrimes increased forty-eight times in six years.

On March 12, the President of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, held an important meeting dedicated to digital world security. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
At this meeting, ways to combat cybercrimes and organized crime, as well as to prevent offenses committed via the internet, were discussed. According to the presented data, the number of cybercrimes has sharply increased over the past six years, reaching 48 times more.
This situation clearly shows that the threat in the digital space is increasingly intensifying. Paying attention to last year's statistics, it was revealed that 82 percent of fraud cases and 76 percent of theft crimes were committed specifically through the internet.
As a result, the total material damage caused to individuals and legal entities exceeded two trillion soms. Such a situation urges specialists and responsible agencies to establish stricter accountability.
In particular, special measures were proposed for citizens who have been careless in using delicate schemes such as financial pyramids and digital payment tools. Persons who allow criminals to use SIM cards, electronic wallets, or accounts registered in their name may also be subject to administrative and criminal liability.
This serves to increase each person's responsibility towards their digital devices. At the same time, it is necessary to establish in legislation that legal entities and commercial banks are also responsible for non-compliance with information security requirements.
Because in recent years, due to technical shortcomings in the banking system, damages caused to thousands of customers have approached seventeen billion soms. Such strict measures are very important for today's developing digital economy.
If banks and payment systems are cautious in protecting their clients' funds, such losses will decrease in the future. The state is working equally to ensure the financial security of all citizens and to build trust in the development of the digital world.
By reducing the number of cybercrimes, the stability of society and the healthy development of the economy will be ensured.
