Benzin prices surged sharply by seven percent in one day

It has become known that the price of AI-92 grade gasoline in the raw materials market of Uzbekistan has sharply increased in a short period of time. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
According to the latest data from the Commodity and Raw Materials Exchange of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the rise in fuel prices has attracted the attention of the public and entrepreneurs. Within one day, the price of gasoline rose by 7.4 percent, reaching an average of 12 million 720 thousand soums per ton.
This situation is being analyzed by many economists and experts. According to experts, the price increase is related to a sharp decrease in trading volume in the market.
Currently, there is a shortage in the market, and due to price dynamics, the amount of gasoline sold and registered on the exchange has decreased by more than twice. According to the data, the trading volume was significantly low in recent days.
For example, on March 13, a total of 3,784 tons of gasoline was sold in the market, while on March 10, this figure was only 1,835 tons. This difference further proves the complexity of the situation in the market.
Economist Otabek Bakirov expressed his critical views on the current situation in the fuel market through his public channel. According to him, the sharp increase in gasoline prices was predicted in advance.
In the first exchange trades after the holiday, the price per ton of 92 grade gasoline increased by 878,900 soums or 7.4 percent, reaching above 12 million 700 thousand soums. Although this situation is understood to be related to the rise in oil prices in world markets, there are other factors in the local context as well.
According to the economist, the increase in oil prices has become another convenient excuse for some large entrepreneurs and monopolists. They are trying to exploit this situation to excessively raise prices.
At the same time, the long-term closure of methane refueling stations, which are important for the population, without clear information about when they will reopen, is also a major problem. This limits the options for fuel choice and complicates price control.
To ensure stability in the fuel market in the future, a clear plan and transparent information must be announced.
