The President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, arrived in Budapest on May 19 for an official visit at the invitation of Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán, accompanied by his wife.
The visit is expected to have significant political and economic importance, marking a new stage in the relations between the two countries.
Official reception ceremony
At Ferenc Liszt International Airport in Budapest, the leader of Uzbekistan was welcomed by Hungary's Minister of Economic Development, Marton Nad, and other high-ranking officials. During the reception, the flags of both countries were raised, and an honor guard was on duty.
High-level negotiations — May 20
According to the visit program, high-level Uzbekistan-Hungary negotiations will take place in Budapest on May 20. The prospects for cooperation in political, trade-economic, investment, innovation, transport, energy, agricultural, and humanitarian fields will be discussed.
Business dialogues and strategies
During the visit, President Mirziyoyev is also scheduled to hold meetings with Hungarian government officials and leaders of major companies, as well as conduct negotiations on bilateral investment projects and agreements.
Participation in the Turkic States Summit — May 21
Another important aspect of the visit is the participation of the President of Uzbekistan in the informal summit of the Turkic States Organization, which will be held in the capital of Hungary on May 21. Issues related to the development of multilateral relations will also be discussed during this event.
