Russia will increase oil and gas supplies to Uzbekistan

The Russian Federation intends to significantly increase the volume of oil and natural gas supplied to Uzbekistan. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
This news was announced during the sixth meeting of the intergovernmental joint commission of the two countries, attended by the head of the Russian government Mikhail Mishustin and the Prime Minister of Uzbekistan Abdulla Aripov. The parties consider cooperation in the energy sector to be of strategic importance.
The Russian side noted that the supply of oil and gas resources will not only continue but their volume will be increased gradually. This process will not be limited solely to the export of raw materials.
At the same time, extensive work is being carried out in Uzbekistan with the participation of Russian specialists to drill new wells, modernize gas processing systems, and improve gas transport infrastructure. This is considered an important step in ensuring the stability of the energy system.
Economic ties are also steadily developing. According to recent data, the volume of trade turnover between the two countries is growing, and the parties aim to increase mutual trade indicators to 30 billion dollars by 2030.
Uzbekistan's Prime Minister Abdulla Aripov emphasized that cooperation in the energy sector, particularly the project for a small-capacity nuclear power plant being built in the Jizzakh region, has ushered in a new era in bilateral relations. Although the exact quantities of oil and gas to be supplied were not disclosed during the meeting, it was stated that this issue will remain under the supervision of the intergovernmental commission and constant dialogues will continue.
At the end of the meeting, the parties signed a joint communiqué. Future cooperation prospects and new projects are expected to be discussed at the international investment forum planned to be held in Tashkent in June 2026.
These dialogues play an important role in ensuring economic stability and energy security between the two countries.
