Uzbekistan ranked 114th in the employment rating.

According to the report prepared by the International Labour Organization for 2025, a ranking of countries worldwide by employment rate has been announced. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
This list compares 187 countries around the world, with Uzbekistan ranking 114th. This indicator means that 55% of the working-age population in our country is employed.
Here, employment refers to all citizens who are engaged in work, either under an employment contract or through independent activities. Experts note that several factors influence the employment rate in Uzbekistan.
For instance, the large number of young people studying in higher education institutions, women engaged in household work, as well as workers in the informal sector not reflected in official statistics, are not fully included in the main employment indicator. Therefore, in practice, the situation in the labor market may be better than the figures in the report.
When compared with the indicators of neighboring countries, Kazakhstan ranks 29th with 67%, Belarus ranks 67th with 61%, and Russia ranks 73rd with 60%. Kyrgyzstan is at 111th place, while Tajikistan is at 175th.
This comparison clearly shows Uzbekistan's position and development potential in the region. Increasing the employment rate is a very important task for economic progress.
To achieve this, measures such as creating new enterprises and jobs, supporting entrepreneurship, and formalizing informal employment need to be implemented. The consistent steps taken by the state in this regard are yielding positive results.
Further increases in the employment rate are expected in the future.
