War participants to receive 30 million soums cash reward

President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces Shavkat Mirziyoyev received a report on the social protection of military personnel, the development of the reserve officer training system, and the preparations for the Day of Remembrance and Honor. According to Zamin.uz, special attention will be paid this year to the material incentive of participants and disabled veterans of the Second World War on the occasion of the May 9 holiday.
Specifically, it is proposed to provide war veterans with a one-time cash reward of 30 million soums. These measures are a practical expression of the high respect shown to the representatives of the older generation.
As part of the holiday events, not only war participants but also home front veterans, elders, and mentors will be honored. Plans include visiting elderly people living alone and those in need of social protection, as well as repairing and improving their housing.
Furthermore, the memory of military personnel who died heroically in the line of duty during the years of independence will be honored, and their families will receive material and moral support. It has been determined that work in this direction will continue systematically.
Important changes will be implemented in the defense system to improve the living conditions of military personnel. The monthly allowances for years of service for the officer corps are expected to double.
Additionally, the salaries of rank-and-file soldiers and sergeants serving under contract will increase by 10 percent. Such measures will serve to enhance the social status of the defenders of the Motherland and provide worthy recognition for their selfless service.
New projects are also being implemented to improve the personnel training system. Currently, reserve officer training has been established in several higher education institutions, and in the future, five more military training centers will be established based on major universities in the cities of Urgench, Termez, Andijan, and Samarkand.
At the same time, a three-year undergraduate system for pre-conscription military education will be introduced in higher education institutions. In the field of military medicine, special training opportunities for master's and residency students will be expanded.
These updates are aimed at further strengthening the country's defense potential.
