At the next plenary session of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis, a draft law on amendments and additions to the Code of Administrative Responsibility of the Republic of Uzbekistan was considered in detail. This was reported by Zamin.uz.

The said document aims to ensure legality in the country, protect the rights and interests of citizens, and increase the transparency of the judicial system. The newly adopted amendments are aimed at further improving order and discipline in various areas of public life.

One of the important innovations introduced by this law concerns preventing fraud in the automobile market. Accordingly, a new article is being added to the Code of Administrative Responsibility.

According to it, administrative liability measures will be applied for intentionally altering or replacing the readings of a device indicating the actual mileage of a vehicle, as well as for failing to inform the buyer about this. This measure is of great importance in protecting consumers' rights and ensuring honesty in automobile trade.

At the same time, the procedure for considering offenses committed by minors has been revised. Now, the participation of a teacher or psychologist specialist is mandatory during the process of conducting such activities.

The said changes are aimed at preventing the psychological pressure on minors, preventing any form of coercion or pressure on them, and protecting children's rights on the basis of international standards. Another innovation introduced into the legislation concerns ensuring transparency in the conduct of administrative proceedings.

Now, the institutions of challenge and self-challenge in court proceedings are being clearly regulated for the first time. Furthermore, the issue of reducing the period of deprivation of the right to drive or operate a vehicle before the expiration of the term is established to be resolved only through judicial procedure.

Senate members approved the document, emphasizing that this law will strengthen citizens' trust in fair justice.
