Earthquake in Tajikistan felt in southern regions of Uzbekistan

The next earthquake that occurred in the territory of the Republic of Tajikistan was also felt in the southern regions of Uzbekistan. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
According to specialists, the magnitude of the earthquake was 4.8 points. The epicenter of the underground tremors was located in the territory of the Khatlon region of Tajikistan.
The focus of the earthquake was located at a depth of approximately 30 kilometers below the earth's surface, and its strength was felt at a distance of several tens of kilometers. On the territory of Uzbekistan, this natural phenomenon was recorded mainly in several districts of the Surkhandarya region.
According to the report of the Seismological Center, in the southern regions of our country, the tremors were felt at around 2 points. In particular, in the Uzun district, the strength of the earthquake was 2 points, and this area is located 104 kilometers from the epicenter.
In addition, tremors of the same strength were observed at a distance of 112 kilometers in the Denau district and 113 kilometers in the Sherabad district. Furthermore, ground shaking was also felt by the residents of the Sariosiyo and Oltiariq districts.
Despite the fact that these areas are located 115 and 124 kilometers from the earthquake's epicenter, respectively, the underground vibrations here also had a strength of 2 points. It should be noted that tremors of this strength are usually felt as the swinging of chandeliers inside buildings or by people living on upper floors.
According to the information received so far, no casualties or damage have been recorded in our country as a result of this natural phenomenon. Furthermore, no official reports have been received regarding injuries or serious incidents among the population.
Specialists are continuously monitoring the situation and calling on the population to remain calm. Such low-magnitude tremors are considered a normal condition for seismically active regions.
