In Uzbekistan, violations of traffic rules among drivers continue to be a serious problem. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
In 2024, a total of 24 million violations were recorded by drivers, of which 81 percent were identified as gross violations. This problem has become chronic, especially in Samarkand, Kashkadarya, Tashkent region, and Tashkent city.
During a meeting held by the head of state, information was provided about the introduction of a new system aimed at improving driving culture and strengthening discipline on the roads. It was noted that a false notion has spread on social networks that "I have already paid the fine, I can drive as I wish."
Now, it is necessary to strictly ensure the rule of law and justice. The new program will be launched under the name "Chronic Violators."
In this system, if a driver moves in the opposite direction twice within a month, runs a red light, or exceeds the speed limit more than five times, they will be deprived of the right to receive a fine reduction for up to one year. If the number of monthly violations exceeds ten, the driver will be deprived of their license for up to six months.
Additionally, fines for speeding will be reviewed, and amendments to legislation are planned to revoke driving rights for drivers who exceed the speed limit by two to three times. According to the president, these measures will help improve discipline on the roads, ensure public safety, and demonstrate the power of the law to violators.
