
The military plane crash at Milestone College in Dhaka has deeply shaken the entire country. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
On July 21, an F-7 BGI fighter jet belonging to the Bangladesh Air Force crashed into the college building due to technical malfunction. As a result of this tragic incident, at least 29 people, mostly school students, lost their lives.
The pilot also lost his life at the scene. During the disaster, 46-year-old English teacher Maherin Chowdhury repeatedly re-entered the burning classroom in an attempt to save the students and sacrificed his life.
Despite his clothes catching fire, he managed to save at least twenty children. According to Maherin's brother Munaf Chowdhury, he did not abandon his students even in his final moments.
When his wife called him to get to safety over the phone, Maherin replied, "They are also my children. They are burning, where am I supposed to go?"
Maherin Chowdhury's bravery has been widely recognized throughout Bangladesh. He was buried on July 23 in his hometown of Nilphamari district.
His selfless act has inspired many people. This incident will remain in history as a shining example of a teacher's dedication to his duty and human courage.
