The decision of French President Emmanuel Macron to officially recognize the state of Palestine has caused strong protests in Israel. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu considers this decision unacceptable and dangerous. He expressed his opinion about it on his social media page.
Netanyahu stated that despite the terrorist attack that occurred on October 7, 2023, Macron's recognition of the state of Palestine near Tel Aviv encourages terrorism and creates new threats. He also emphasized that such decisions serve to strengthen artificial regimes similar to Iraq or Iran.
The Israeli government assesses this action as a unilateral and conflict-escalating step directed against international security. According to Netanyahu, France's recognition of the state of Palestine indirectly supports radical groups in Gaza and the region.
This could negatively impact peace negotiations in the region. For this reason, the Israeli government is strongly criticizing this decision and states that it could further complicate the situation in the region.
