Costa Rica has been recognized as the friendliest and easiest country to move to. According to a survey conducted by InterNations, this country ranked first in two main categories and made it into the top 10 in all other factors.
During the research, at least 50 expatriates from 53 countries around the world participated. The majority of people who moved to Costa Rica (83 percent) reported feeling at home here and felt very welcomed (88 percent).
45 percent of respondents emphasized that adapting to the local culture is very easy. Additionally, expatriates participating in the survey considered the local population to be the most hospitable in the world.
Mexico ranked second in the index, leading in the "making friends" category. This category assessed how satisfied expatriates are with their social life, whether they have made friends in their new homes, and how easy it is to find new acquaintances among the local population.
The Philippines rounded out the top three. This country did not fall below 6th place in any of the factors in the survey.
Kuwait, Norway, and Germany were noted as the most difficult countries for expatriates to move to.
