Turkey strengthened defense cooperation with Syria

A new phase of cooperation in the defense sector has begun between Turkey and Syria. This was reported by Zamin.uz.

According to a representative of the Turkish Ministry of Defense, within the framework of the agreement signed between the two countries, Ankara will provide Damascus with weapons, military equipment, and logistical support. At the same time, Turkey plans to share its knowledge and experience with the Syrian side.

This agreement was announced after the Turkish Defense Minister Yasar Guler and Syrian Defense Minister Murhaf Abu Kasra signed a memorandum on military training. This document aims to further strengthen military cooperation between the two countries.

Last month, Damascus officially requested assistance from Turkey to enhance its defense capabilities. Following this, rapid negotiations were held, resulting in the current agreement.

Within the framework of the agreement, Turkey will not only supply weapons and military equipment but also assist in training Syrian military personnel, exchanging tactical experience, and modernizing the defense system. This cooperation opens a new chapter in the relations between the two states and serves to expand formats of military cooperation in the region as well as increase strategic capabilities in the defense sector.

In the future, this cooperation is expected to play an important role in ensuring the stability and security of the region.
