The wife of the President of the Republic of Turkey, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, the country's First Lady Emine Erdoğan recently sent a sincere and moving letter to Melania Trump, the spouse of the President of the United States, Donald Trump. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
According to Anadolu news agency, in the letter, Mrs. Emine recalled her personal meeting with Melania at the White House six years ago and mentioned Melania's letter to Russian leader Vladimir Putin. Through this, she expressed her intention to continue previous relations in a new light.
In the letter, Emine Erdoğan emphasized that the right of children to grow up in care and a safe environment is universal and important worldwide. She noted that this right is equally significant for every person regardless of race, religion, or ideology.
She also stated that assisting those deprived of this right is one of the highest duties before humanity. The First Lady of Turkey recalled Melania Trump's attention to 648 Ukrainian children who were victims of war and particularly stressed the necessity to direct similar attention to the catastrophic situation in the Gaza Strip.
According to her words, over the past two years, more than 62,000 civilians, including over 18,000 children, have died in this region. It was noted that a child dies every 45 minutes in Gaza, and the United Nations refers to this area as "hell" and a "children's cemetery" for a reason.
It was emphasized that a child's life should not be considered cheap. Emine Erdoğan stated that children living in Gaza are facing not only physical hardships but also deep psychological trauma.
Therefore, she noted that they also have the right to a happy, free, and peaceful future. She urged Melania Trump to send a special letter to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu calling for an end to the humanitarian disaster.
The letter also stressed that the world is equally concerned about the Palestinian issue. Melania Trump's firm call should be accepted as a historic responsibility towards the Palestinian people, and her sincere feelings as a mother and a human being should be deeply understood.
It is hoped that Melania Trump will ignite a light of hope for the children of Gaza. Thus, Emine Erdoğan's appeal aimed once again to draw the international community's attention to the fate of children, and she expects solidarity from Melania Trump in humanitarian initiatives.
