Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky announced at a summit held in Paris that the Russian army is preparing a new attack on Ukrainian territories. He emphasized that Russia is planning a major offensive in the Sumy, Kharkiv, and Zaporizhzhia regions.
Russia's attack plans
According to Zelensky, Ukrainian intelligence has clear information that Russia is preparing for a spring offensive. The Ukrainian side has shared this intelligence with its allies. According to him, Russia planned to start this operation eight months ago, but the actions of the Ukrainian army in the Kursk region have pushed these plans back.
Russia is trying to prolong negotiations
In the opinion of the Ukrainian leader, Russia is artificially prolonging the negotiation process and trying to draw the US into meaningless discussions through various "conditions." This way, Moscow aims to gain time and then plan to seize even more territories.
“They [RF] are prolonging the negotiations and trying to drag the US into endless, meaningless discussions with fake 'conditions,' so they can gain time and then try to seize more territories,” says the Ukrainian leader.
Europe plays an important role in negotiations
According to the decision adopted at the summit in Paris, representatives of France and the United Kingdom will participate on behalf of Europe in the negotiations to end the Russia-Ukraine war. This will serve to enhance Europe's role in the peace process.
The issue of sending Western military contingents is under discussion
At the summit of the coalition supporting Ukraine held on March 27, the possibility of sending Western military contingents was also discussed among several issues. French President Emmanuel Macron emphasized at the end of the summit that European leaders are considering the possibility of deploying military forces in Ukraine.
This indicates that the Russia-Ukraine war may enter a new phase. Ukraine is trying to strengthen cooperation with Western countries, while Russia is preparing new attacks to expand its territories.
