As a result of the latest airstrike by Israel on Gaza City, Abu Obeyda, a representative of the military wing and press secretary of the Palestinian HAMAS movement, was killed. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
Israel's Defense Minister Israel Kas announced this to the public. Earlier, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu also reported the death of Obeyda, but at that time there was no official confirmation.
Abu Obeyda was a well-known figure in HAMAS videos for many years, always appearing in military uniform with his face covered by a mask. He made his last statement on August 29, when the Israeli Defense Forces launched a new strike on Gaza, calling the city a heavy combat zone.
This was reported by AFP and AP news agencies. It should be recalled that on October 7, 2023, HAMAS, recognized as a terrorist organization by the European Union and the United States, launched a major attack on Israel.
On that day, fighters fired over a thousand rockets and infiltrated Israeli territory. As a result, nearly 1,200 people were killed, and more than 250 were taken hostage.
Some of the hostages were later exchanged or released, while others perished. These events further intensified the situation in the Middle East and led to an escalation of bloody clashes.
Thus, conflicts in the region continue, and the attention of the international community is required to establish peace.
