Britain plans to recognize the state of Palestine

The British government explained this move by the severe situation in Gaza and the illegal settlements in the West Bank. Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas welcomed this decision.

Currently, the majority of UN member states have recognized Palestine; recently, Portugal, France, Canada, and Australia have also announced their intention to follow this path. This decision is considered an important step towards establishing peace in the region.
