US President Donald Trump has imposed tariffs of up to 104% on Chinese products. In response to this action, Beijing has stated that it is ready to take "firm and effective measures," according to CNN.
Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Lin Jian said, "The ongoing unilateral tariffs and pressure policies by the US are unacceptable to China."
These tariffs were imposed in addition to Trump's previous 20% tariffs and China's 34% retaliatory tariffs.
China has not yet announced official countermeasures, but it emphasized that "if legal interests are violated, we will resist to the end."
Additionally, China is working to diversify its supply chains by strengthening cooperation with regional neighbors.
