Lukashenko proposed building a second nuclear power plant in Russia
Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko proposed the construction of a second nuclear power plant on the country's territory during a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin. This was reported by Zamin.uz.

According to him, the new nuclear power plant project could be implemented to supply electricity to Russian-controlled territories, specifically the Kherson, Zaporizhzhia, Luhansk, and Donetsk regions. This information was provided by the Kremlin website on September 26.

Lukashenko emphasized that the new plant could be built in the eastern part of Belarus. He stated that the "Rosatom" company has already developed opportunities to expand the nuclear energy sector.

He did not speak in detail about financial matters publicly but noted that various options exist. He stressed readiness to build a new unit or an entire plant if necessary.

Russian President Vladimir Putin responded cautiously to the proposal. According to him, if there is a consumer who purchases electricity and pays according to the established tariff, this would not pose a problem.

Thus, the parties are considering opportunities for cooperation in the field of nuclear energy.
