Letitia James accused of bank fraud
On October 9, a panel of judges in Virginia, USA, made a decision that attracted significant attention in the political arena. This was reported by Zamin.uz.

Letitia James, the New York Attorney General and one of President Donald Trump's main rivals, has been charged with bank fraud. Local media outlets reported this news.

According to the information, Letitia James is suspected of providing false information in 2020 to obtain a favorable loan for purchasing real estate located in Virginia. An investigation has been initiated regarding this matter.

Interestingly, similar charges were previously brought against another critic of Trump, former FBI Director James Comey. Both investigations are being conducted by prosecutor Lindsay Halligan, who was appointed by Donald Trump.

Her former colleague resigned after stating there was insufficient basis to file criminal charges against Letitia James and James Comey. Letitia James firmly denied the accusations and emphasized that all of this is political retaliation.

According to her, Trump is acting solely out of personal interest. In September, Trump criticized James, Comey, and Democratic Senator Adam Schiff on social media for not initiating investigations promptly enough.

Soon after, the Department of Justice announced formal charges against Comey, and investigations began regarding Schiff and James. One of the President's close allies, Bill Palt, head of the Federal Housing Finance Agency, accused them of document forgery but did not present evidence to support these claims.

Analysts believe this event could mark a new phase in the political struggle in the United States. On one side are Trump's rivals facing criminal charges, and on the other, Trump himself is preparing for political revenge.

Currently, Letitia James plans to reject the case through the courts and is taking all legal measures to prove her innocence.
