The US government is unable to deport a Salvadoran citizen from the country, Politico reports citing court documents. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
It is known that Abrego Garcia was deported from the US in the spring and placed in a prison in El Salvador. However, he later returned to the US and was accused of assisting migrants crossing the US-Mexico border near Texas.
He was released from custody in August 2025 but was arrested again two days later. According to a US immigration official, it is not possible to deport him to another country.
Uganda, Eswatini, and Ghana have refused to accept the Salvadoran citizen. According to immigration officials, the US government tried to have him accepted by one of these countries, but this attempt was unsuccessful.
Therefore, the issue of deporting the Salvadoran citizen remains unresolved.
