Currently, due to the sharply increasing demand for labor in Russia, there is an unprecedented influx of migrants into the country. This was reported by the Times publication through its Telegram channel.
The publication emphasizes that workers are currently entering Russia not only from the traditionally considered Central Asian countries but also from the African continent, Latin America, and other Asian countries. Workers from these countries are expressing their willingness to work for wages that are considered insignificant by Russian standards.
Until now, Russia has often filled its labor market gaps with migrants from Central Asia. However, the number of workers coming from this region is currently insufficient to meet the demand for labor in Russia. As a result, Russia is being forced to expand the geography of attracting migrants.
According to data presented by the Ministry of Labor of the Russian Federation, by 2030, the total demand for labor in the country will amount to nearly 11 million people. This figure is significantly higher than the current number of available workers. This situation remains one of the most serious problems in Russia's economic life.
At the same time, the new migrants entering the labor market are gaining opportunities to be employed in various sectors of the Russian economy. The majority of them are working in construction, industry, services, and agriculture.
Experts believe that Russia will need to reconsider its migration policy and labor market regulations to address this large-scale labor shortage.
