
Kyrgyzstan exported 678 tons of rice to Uzbekistan from January to August 2023. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
This figure is 8 times higher compared to last year. Financially, the revenue from rice exports increased from 78 thousand dollars to 388 thousand dollars.
In total, Kyrgyzstan exported over 1 thousand tons of rice worth 715 thousand dollars during this period. By the beginning of September, Uzbekistan remains the largest buyer of Kyrgyzstan's rice.
Following are Turkey (308 tons) and Russia (17 tons). According to the State Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan on Statistics, the trade turnover between the two countries reached 597 million dollars in the first eight months of this year.
Kyrgyzstan ranks 20th among Uzbekistan's main trade partners. Overall, by the beginning of September 2023, Uzbekistan imported food products worth a total of 2.6 billion dollars from abroad.
Of this amount, 609 million dollars correspond to grain products. This figure increased by 6.2 percent over the year.
