For the first time in Russia, a driverless tram has started regular operation. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
This news marks an important step in the country's transport sector and was implemented within the framework of an innovative project. The tram serves passengers on route number 10.
Since its launch, this transport vehicle has managed to deliver nearly 40,000 passengers to their destinations. Importantly, the automated system has not violated traffic rules even once.
According to experts, this project has initiated a new phase in digitizing urban transport in Russia and introducing safe, environmentally friendly technologies. The driverless tram is fully controlled by artificial intelligence.
It automatically detects road signs and traffic light signals, and it is also capable of responding promptly to unexpected obstacles. The success of this project is expected to be tested in other major cities of Russia as well.
This could serve to make urban transport safer and more convenient in the future.
