The Palestine-Israel conflict has remained one of the most acute issues in international politics for many years. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
Especially, the situation in the Gaza Strip is becoming more complicated after each new statement. Recently, remarks made by Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz once again drew the international community's attention to this region.
The Israeli government plans to act independently in certain areas of the Gaza Strip. According to Israel Katz, one of Israel's main goals is to disarm Hamas militants.
He stated that in uncontrolled areas, this task could be carried out by international forces or the Israeli army. The politician's statements indicate significant changes are occurring in the country's strategy.
Furthermore, Israel Katz reiterated his opposition to the establishment of a Palestinian state. In his opinion, Israel will not change its position on this matter.
According to the minister, the primary goal is the complete demilitarization of Gaza. This includes eliminating weapons stockpiles in the region and disarming the Hamas movement.
It is known that since October 10, a ceasefire agreement has been in effect in the Gaza area. Although the exchange of bodies of hostages between Hamas and Israel continues, the political and humanitarian situation in the region remains uncertain and concerning.
Currently, more than 150 countries worldwide have recognized Palestine's independence. Recently, France, the United Kingdom, Canada, Portugal, and Australia have also officially recognized Palestine.
While this process is further strengthening Palestine's position in international politics, Israel's firm stance may negatively affect future negotiations.
